Mark Henrichs, also known as Boogie Lights, is a Denver-based musical artist who wears many hats. As a Producer, DJ, and multi-instrumentalist, Henrichs is the engine that moves the Boogie Lights sound. What started as a solo project in 2016, where Henrichs could fuse his love of drums with electronic music, has since morphed into an even bigger vision. Like the dream team that formed in 1992 to bring home the Olympic Gold, Henrichs has carefully chosen the starting lineup of his live band hybrid, The Boogie Bunch. Tactfully weaving live instrumentation into unique electronic sounds, Boogie Lights is a funk blast that ripples through dimensions. Combining old-school funk basslines and melodic vocals with futuristic house and electronic influences, Boogie Lights and The Boogie Bunch is a must-see live experience.

Studio 25 EP
The last Boogie Lights full-length album, Disco Dance Therapy, was released on Dec. 6, 2024. The album was well-received by fans and showcased the unique range of Boogie Lights and his music. On Jan. 23, 2026, Boogie Lights released a brand-new EP titled Studio 25, featuring a variety of local vocalists and collaborators. The four-track EP is a colourful exposé of funk and soul. From the high-tempo house-influenced “This Beat is Sick” to the soulful weekenders’ anthem “Studio 25,” this project has a sound that can get even the most stale-faced accountant to shimmy their hips a bit.
Boogie Lights & The Boogie Bunch Live at the Bluebird Theater
Building on the momentum of the new release, Boogie Lights & The Boogie Bunch are set to take over the Bluebird Theater on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026. The hybrid DJ and live band fusion features the full 10-piece band and draws on the chaotic energy of funk legends like Parliament-Funkadelic and James Brown. With influence from almost any genre you can think of, a Boogie Bunch show is a spectacle for the audience and artists alike.
For this one, Boogie Lights has brought in some excellent support. The night opens with Chillsbury Doughboy and an epic B2B with Pure Colors and Lando Burch. Also, the Bluebird will see the Denver debut of BoogieTraxx, an Austin, TX staple in the house scene.
We caught up with the man himself ahead of the big show to discuss the origins of the new project, what to expect at the Bluebird Theater show, and who is currently inspiring him.
Introspection Section: Can you tell me a little about the new record and how it came to be?
Boogie Lights: Studio 25 started as an idea back in January, 2025. A sort of feel good disco escape from the world. The title track is a collaboration with Denver soul singer DZIRAE GOLD and represents a modern day 9 to 5 weekend anthem in the spirit of Studio 54. All 4 songs on the album are quite different in style but have a similar thread of groovy beats and inspiring lyrics. “This Beat is Sick” was a collab started by Denver producer Codakolor that ended up being the perfect combination of our two production styles. And I actually wrote “Crispy Time” & “Shine Like the Stars” back in 2023/2024 which were both reinspired by a college friend visiting Denver back in August. This is the debut for vocalist Lisa Scivolette.

Introspection Section: Can you describe a Boogie Lights and the Boogie Bunch show in words?
Boogie Lights: Energetic love chaos. Boogie Bunch shows are a massive ball of energy that always opens up the crowd. I think the display of passion from all of the musicians and the interaction allows the crowd to be fully in the moment. The combination of musicians, dancers, and flow artists really lets the creative magic shine and hopefully leaves the audience feeling like they were part of the experience.
Introspection Section: 2026 is already shaping up to be a big year. Any other big plans or goals you want to share?
Boogie Lights: Really looking forward to spreading outside of Denver, spreading the boogie vibes further. I’ll be making my debut in Austin, opening for Boogietraxx, who will be the direct support on Saturday at Bluebird. I’m also stoked about a winter mountain run that includes Telluride, Steamboat, Winter Park, and 10 Mile Music Hall in Frisco.
Introspection Section: Where do you think funk fits into Denver’s current musical landscape?
Boogie Lights: I think funk blends into everything Denver stands for, and especially hits in the musical landscape. Although it’s known for being the bass capital, I think most Denverites will naturally lean towards anything funky. Some horns and a slap bass just change the mood so quickly, and I believe up-and-coming bass artists also lean into that mindset; one example is Mocha Music.
Introspection Section: Who are some artists that are currently inspiring you?
Boogie Lights: Any blend of electronic and live instrumentation usually catches my interest. Franc Moody sticks out to me with their unique compositions and just overall funk vibe. Purple Disco Machine, Flamingosis, and Parcels all have a special place in my heart as well. Love me some feel-good music.
Introspection Section: Is there anything else you would like to add?
Boogie Lights: I hope anyone reading this feels self-love today. think there are so many distractions currently, and trying to focus on the beauty in the world feels so important. Keep up the random acts of kindness. Call your Mom. Be Weird. Be kind. And let’s boogie at Bluebird on Saturday!
